Conference Series on Cosmopolitanism

The weekly conference series are designed as an opportunity for interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary discussions between researchers from the University of Lisbon and other academic and research institutions from Portugal and abroad, coming from fields such as political philosophy, political theory, legal studies, sociology, political science, anthropology and others, to present their work-in-progress on topics related to cosmopolitanism.

The weekly seminars will be held on Tuesday from 11.00 - 13.00.

The language of the Conference Series is both Portuguese and English.

This event endorses and promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals by raising awareness and reflexivity and by advancing a vision of a just world. Particularly the following goals are envisaged: Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts;  Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels;  Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
