O objetivo deste simpósio é analisar os desafios que o pensamento antropo-político-jurídico de Kant tem vindo a suscitar nos debates contemporâneos (em autores como Rawls, Habermas, H Arendt, Foucault, Derrida, S. Benhabib e outros …), e o seu potencial de diagnóstico de novos problemas globais, como a finitude da Terra e de seus recursos em procde predação intensiva, as migrações em massa de refugiados e o direito de ser estrangeiro, o crescente número dos deserdados da Terra e dos excluídos da democracia, da efetiva cidadania e dos bens políticos, sociais e económicos, e, sempre de novo, o da criação de uma ordem jurídica e política mundial capaz de equacionar com  coragem e lucidez tais problemas e encaminhar no melhor sentido a sua solução.

This event endorses and promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals by raising awareness and reflexivity and by advancing a vision of a just world. Particularly the following goals are envisaged: Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts;  Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels;  Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
