
Dear Colleagues,
it is our great pleasure to invite you to submit a proposal to the workshop
COSMOPOLITANISM AND EMANCIPATION
to be held on 18 September 2019
at the University Portucalense, Porto, Portugal
This workshop aims at bringing together scientists of different research fields, along with representatives of various civil associations, sharing a common interest in discussing the distinct meanings that the concept of "emancipation" has acquired throughout history and the varied political projects it has inspired, particularly those with a cosmopolitan scope.
We highly welcome contributions covering the following topics:
- emancipation as thinking by yourself, as having the same social conditions etc.
- emancipation by evolution, transformation, rupture, revolution, conquest of rights etc.
- emancipation from a tutor, a guardian, an authority, a situation of inferiority etc.
- cosmopolitanism as emancipation
